Brighten up your face

It’s all very well having lots of treatments done to give yourself a fabulous smile, but what if it’s sitting in a face that now doesn’t look so great by comparison? It’s a bit like when you repaint one of the rooms in your house, the rest then looking like they need freshening up too. Well, at Centre of Dental Excellence, it’s easy to freshen up your face with Botox in Stanmore.

What is Botox in Stanmore?

Botox is a temporary treatment that smooths out lines that are caused by habitually contracting muscles. Generally speaking, these are lines on the top third of your face: the frown lines between your eyebrows, the worry lines above them, the laughter lines around your eyes.

Botox in Stanmore is administered by injection. This purified protein of the Botulinum type A toxin blocks the signal from your nerves to your muscles, thus temporarily paralysing them. It takes about a week to take effect and then it lasts for about 4 months. Most people come for a top-up after about 3 months.

As well as Botox, we offer various other facial aesthetics treatments:

Dermal fillers

These are injections of hyaluronic acid, something the body produces naturally, but less and less of as we age. The face loses fat and muscle tone as we get older, developing folds and hollows. Dermal fillers fill them back up again, restoring plumpness and glowing skin. Dermal fillers work really well on the lower part of the face, plumping out the nasolabial folds between the nose and mouth, the marionette lines between the mouth and chin, and also wrinkles along the top lip. Lips also get flatter as we age and dermal fillers can be used to plump them back out again. Treatments last on average a year, but with lips, the time is only about 6 months because we use our lips so much.
